paradise, home to extraordinary Australian fauna like Southern Cassowaries, Estuarine Crocodiles, and 
Northern Koalas. We’re on the hunt for a Wildlife Team Leader with a passion for wildlife and leadership to 
join our vibrant team. 

Position Highlights: 
Step into a role that’s the ultimate blend of excitement and responsibility! As our Wildlife Team Leader, you’ll 
play a crucial role in caring for and showcasing our incredible Australian animals. Lead a dynamic team of 
Wildlife Keepers, ensuring excellent animal welfare and guest experiences, all while surrounded by the 
stunning landscapes of Port Douglas. 

Primary Responsibilities: - 

  •  Inspire and manage an amazing team of Wildlife Keepers, maintaining exceptional care and enriching 
    our animals' habitats.
  • Craft and enforce policies to ensure our animals receive the best care and adhere to industry 
    standards. 
  • Oversee daily operations, from feeding schedules to health checks, delivering unforgettable guest 
    interactions. 
  • Team up with management to drive conservation efforts and educational programs. 

 

Your application is recommended to Include: - 

  •  Proven leadership experience in a zoo or wildlife park, managing a team.
  • Strong knowledge of welfare frameworks, enrichment techniques, and conservation principles.
  • Excellent organizational and communication skills to motivate and lead a diverse team.
  • Experience in developing policies and adhering to safety standards.
  • Hands-on experience with Australian wildlife and strong understanding of their natural history.
  • Strong computer skills, including rostering software, and a manual driver's license or the ability to obtain one..
  • Availability to work over a 7-day roster, including weekends, public holidays, and school holidays.
  • Ability to comply with our Drug & Alcohol Policy
